Monetize That Sucker, The Daniel Scocco AdSense Tips
Daniel Scocco, one of the more successful professional bloggers out there, put together a great post for ProBlogger that gives 9 Tricks On Optimizing Adsense Revenue.
Keep in mind that the dollar amounts he quotes as revenue are sick. But, so is his reader numbers. Geez, he has two blogs that get a combined 1 million plus visitors a month.
On the other hand, his tips could be employed by all levels of bloggers to help monetize their blog a bit, and make better use of their Adsense account.
What I found really interesting is that Scocco respects his regular readers and every tip he offers shows that respect. I n one tip, he talks about monetizing posts that are over one week old. This way, only the organic search visitors will see the ads. To help with this, Scocco uses the Why Do Work plug-in.
Better believe I’m going to find that one.
Daniel says that size does matter. It seems that his larger adsensense ads performed very well.
Whenever I tried to use smaller units the results were disappointing. Even if I positioned them aggressively the CTR was just too low.
All four units mentioned above can produce good results, but the best performing one is by far the 336×280 large rectangle, and that is the one I used to boost my earnings.

The CopyBlogger post was excellent, and true. Confidence, not arrogance, will open a lot of doors.
I’ll be installing that plug-in later on today….
I have to admit that I have 3 favorite bloggers, I read and learn from them: Darren Rowse (ProBlogger is awesome), Daniel Scocco, and Yaro Starak. Any post associated with those names contains golden nuggets.
On other hand I try to keep myself a little distant with “volatile” methods, things like “now you see it, now you don’t”. Adsens faul in volatile side, I don’t completely disregard them, but I take them with a grain of salt, as I know that “rules” can change anytime.
Alex, it is a great way of learning associating yourself with the right personalities. I like that! I also like Reagan slogan “trust but verify” ( he was talking about Gorbachev… LOL) but it is applicable in Internet marketing simply because some methods can work for me and not work for you. This doesn’t mean that the method is a bad one.
I am not worry about you as I really know that your judgement, is based on logic, testing, experimenting.
I am very worry about beginners who can easily fall in a lot of traps.
