Dianne Confidently Takes The Step Off
I once had the pleasure of listening to a keynote speaker at a local tech college graduation give the most amazing speech.
The speaker opened up by listing the terrible statistics of one NBA player. The number of missed shots, fouls, and general violations was astounding, yet the stats belonged to arguably the greatest player to ever play the game, Michael Jordan.
The speaker revealed herself as the owner/ceo of a local aggregate concern. A very well known and successful Dayton area company at that. But, she also talked about her failures on the road to success. Success that includes the engineering and marketing of a one of a kind, must have piece of machinery in the gravel business.
In the message of the speech was the golden nugget of confidence. This woman is not cocky or arrogant, she is confident. She carries herself through any endeavour in such a way not to fear failure, but to embrace it as a lesson. To learn from mistakes instead of chastising them.
Back in early September of 2009, I trusted my confidence. I spent 3 days toiling and failing and toiling again. Three days of cussing, aha!, and cussing again.
I had embarked on a journey to a place I had never been, yet I wanted to get there badly. After all the wrong turns, dead end alleys, and turned street signs, I ended up where I wanted.
On the edge of a functional WordPress Multi-User platform.
I am confident in myself. I will take that step off and see what happens when I land. If I fail, I have all the steps to near success. Maybe I just need to Waltz instead of Tango at some point in the next attempt.
Another person at the Beach with great confidence is Squidoo Lensmaster Stargazer (Dianne). Dianne came to Crabbysbeach with no background in WordPress blogs and has learned quite a bit because she has practiced the step off with confidence in her ability to brush off the dirty knees and try again.
Dianne transferred her Blogger content over to Crabbysbeach, something I have never attempted.
Kudos Dianne!
I might add that her Navy Scuttlebutt blog is possibly the coolest looking blog on the Beach. Every time I step over there, I get a rush of emotions and stunning visuals of tradition.
What’s more is that Dianne is not alone. Just look around, the Beach is populated by those who are confident enough to step off.

I hate to repeat myself but I have to tell the true, believing in ourselves is not a stone, it is a huge mountain rock in our way to conquer the success.
What is different in Alex behavior? The trust in his ability, the courage to jump high, the stubbornness of hard working, continue desire to learn, change, experiment, and not look back attitude. Those are the infredients of a winner.
Dianne is one of my favorite squid, and I hope a friend as well. I discovered Dianne when we worked together on the same group JJJ2. Her honesty, camaraderie, hard working attitudes impressed me and I was so happy when she decided to join crabbysbeach. We have the chance to work again together under the same roof, the friendly roof of crabby’s.
Alex thanks for the opportunity to tell the world my own vision of a winning attitude, which is so close to your working attitude.
Rock the way Alex
Michey
Wow, you guys have me blushing and feeling humble. What can I say? You two have created something wonderful here and I wanted to be a part of it! That is a lot of motivation! Thank you for helping me and making me feel so welcome. I am pleased to count both of you among my friends as well!
Yeah, Dianne!!! It’s super fun to have you here on the beach with us!! yippeeeeeeeeeeee!
Welcome, Dianne!! What a story of how you got your blog onto crabbysbeach! Now I must go over and look at it!!
Blessings!
Welcome Dianne to the Beach! And thank you Alex and Michey for making this a place where we can congregate and grow together.
Alex I want to thank you for taking that step and keeping at it. Crabbybeach is certainly a great place to be. I too joined last September and started my blog…but life happens…and I just didn’t have the time to commit to learning a something new at that time…so I looked occasionally but stayed on the sidelines. Now it’s a new year and I’m excited about learning more and coming to the Beach each day!
Thanks again for all you do.
Now I’m off to see what Dianne has done…sounds intriguing!
No, thank you Mary Beth. If it wasn’t for the likes of you, Dianne, Kate, Michey, and the rest of the wonderful folks here, I would have no reason to give and promote. I do love to help and so far, this experiment seems to be the most rewarding for all those involved.
Does my heart good to see everyone enjoying themselves.
