Crabby's Beach Hates Spammers

Did you know that Alex created Crabby's Beach as a place to be creative and interact with other Squidoo lensmasters? Well it was! And that still remains true today! Somehow, somewhere along the way dirty, rotten scoundrel spammers (Can you tell I'm pissed?!) found their way in. And frankly my dears I give a damn. I care about Crabby's Beach, I care about Alex, I care about each one of us with a blog on here!

As I cleaned up the beach today I'm thinking in hindsight to say...
- My sincere apologies if I deleted a rightful Squidoo lensmaster member ID, poke me and I'll get it fixed!
- If you were a spammer...bye, bye now! Ahh! It sure feels good to click delete you!
- If I did not catch you in this sweep, I'll get ya in the next! <---Guaranteed!
- Contact me when you create a profile here at the beach so I can make sure you are properly welcomed and have all the resources at hand to be successful!

So how can I stop spammers, you might ask?
- Alex posted something a while back about how to go into your dashboard to update info so subscriber's are not allowed...which decreases spam big time...keeping fingers crossed he'll read this and share the steps again for all of us to follow!
- Don't approve any old person's comments on your blog. Betting my cute-as-ever new wooly winter socks that Italian-Vacations or Your-blog-buddy (big hint:someone you totally don't know) that leaves something like, "Great blog post, passing this on to my friends" or "Wow, amazing...what blog format did you use?" aren't really impressed they are just trying to get through to post more crap on your blog.
- Make sure you have spam bustin' plug-ins in place. SI CAPTCHA is one that I recommend. Chime in with the plug-ins that you use and love!
- If all else fails and or you are at a lose, please drop me a note (@clouda9) with your spam issue, make sure to include as much detail as possible and I'll take care of the rest and get back to you!

So bottom line...you Squidoo, you wanna join us and you are itchin' to blog! Then Welcome to Crabby's Beach - We Are Happy to Have Ya!

Correen

PS
- If blogging isn't your thing you are still welcome to join here, you just have to be a Squidoo lensmaster!
- I'm really a nice person, I just really, really dislike spammers and spamming!

Always An Angel

October 25, 2010 in News by Alex

Bon is gone. Well, that's what grief could have us believe, but I never sign into grief's bullshit.

Yes, it's true that we won't have her laughing and frolicking with us, running with us,  or guiding us. But honestly, we have something better. We have the knowledge that she is always with us, and we have the knowledge that she is resting peacefully.

Bonnie struggled for nearly a year. A year of all of us wondering where and when the cute little crocheted purple scarf would show up. The unmistakble avitar really didn't show up, but we saw something else if we looked closer. We saw her in the form of love.

Bonnie was, and will always be, with us while we are in the company of Rich. And if we think back to a time we didn't know Rich, we can see that Rich was with us then.

The power of love.

Transformation through acceptance is the real power of love, and what Bonnie and Rich have has grown to something greater than each of them, but is nothing without them both.

To fully understand this, read the text here and here. But as you read it, try to put yourself totally in her shoes and realize that what lies underneath the text is something so strong that death cannot squelch. Understand that what is there is the strength of love that lives on today because of Bonnie and Rich.

Grief comes from the Latin word gravis, which means heavy. It can be said that the bigger the impact that someone had on our lives, the heavier the grief. I say the bigger the impact means the heavier the celebration, and with Bonnie, we have some real celebrating to do. Her impact on me was great indeed, and I will celebrate her life for years to come.

And Rich will be there to remind me, as will all the angels who were touched by Bonnie. My tribute to all of you is here.

Bonnie, you ROCK!

An Old Friend Gets a Face Lift

May 24, 2010 in News by Alex

One of the oldest blogs at the Beach, the Community Bulletin Board, will be taken down and moved to a group.  We feel that being a group will make the bulletin board more accessible, therefore more useful.

So, if you have anything you would normally post on a community bulletin board, post it at The Beach Bulletin Board. Or, grab an email subscription to see the latest postings to the board.

Please: No listings about wanting to give away unruly children!

Thanks,

Admin
